Amcon 270 Winch

The AMCON line of Winches and Hoists are heavy duty air-controlled winches engineered for lifting and anchoring applications under a variety of operating conditions. For years, Conmaco provided offshore customers with mooring system expertise and hoists we could match for their job, however, as needs changed it became harder to find a “mass production” hoist that allowed for the much needed customizing that the market demanded. The AMCON Hoist is a heavy-duty, air-controlled hoist which is engineered for heavy lift, anchoring and derrick applications.  The standard models are available in double or triple drum waterfall configurations. Machines can also be ordered in single drum or four drum arrangements. An engine driven air compressor, air tank, stand up local control console and diesel fuel tank are furnished as standard equipment. AMCON hoists are just one example of how Conmaco and AmCLyde combine over 180 years of experience in the engineering and manufacturing of a complete line of quality construction equipment.

BRAKES

Each drum is equipped with a single external-contracting band-type brake. The break is air-actuated, spring released and is complete with a spring-set override/parking brake feature.

CLUTCH

Each drum is equipped with a single internal-expanding band-type clutch. The clutch is air-actuated.

PAINT

Winch frame, guards and all sheet metal work are sandblasted and coated with inorganic zinc, with finish coats of high-gloss polyurethane marine paint

OPTIONS

In addition to a varitey of engines, transmissions, control arrangements, and electric or hydraulic drives, the Model 270 can be ordered with the following accessories: attached or remote boom swingers, levelwinds, or fleeting sheaves.
Deck guide sheaves and fairleaders can also be furnished to fit your needs.

Theoretical single-drum pull in pounds and line speed in feet per minute with a Detroit Diesel Model 4-71 electric-starting diesel engine, driving through a Twin Disc three-stage torque converter, using 1 1/8″ wire rope.
